OMI-MJU-7
IR Flare for NATO Fixed Wing Aircrafts
Equivalent to MJU-7A/B • 1370-01-296-8395
The
IR flare OMI-MJU-7 has the standard 2" x 1" cross section and can be
fired from a variety of launching systems such as AN/ALE-40, AN/ALE-45
and AN/ALE-47 with which are equipped modern tactical aircraft. The
flare itself is a pressed pellet of a magnesium/teflon formulation
required to produce high radiation output characteristics. The pellet
is specially prepared to give very fast reliable ignition. An
electrical ignition system, fitted to the base of the flare, only
operates under the acceleration of ejection. Accidental ignition is
prevented by a bore-rider which only allows functioning to occur after
the flare has left the cartridge case.
OMI-MJU-8
IR Flare for NATO Rotary and Fixed Wing Aircrafts
Equivalent to MJU-8A/B • 1370-01-239-9544 • 1758AS100
Cylindrical calibre 36mm. This decoy is ejected from the AN/ALE-39 or AN/ALE-47 countermeasure dispenser.
Decoy flare production.
Flares loaded on a/c countermeasure dispenser.
OMI-MJU-38
IR Flare for NATO Aircrafts
Equivalent to MJU-38/B • 1370-01-413-6885

OMI-M206
IR Flare for NATO Rotary and Fixed Wing Aircrafts
Equivalent to M206 • 1370-01-048-2138
The
OMI-M206 IR flare (equivalent to NSN 1370-01-048-2138 is a
countermeasure for various rotary and fixed wing aircraft. It is
standard NATO 1x1x8 inch type. Main application platforms include AH-1
Cobra, CH-47 Chinook, OV-10 Bronco, UH-1 Huey, UH-60, AH-64 Apache,
OH-58 Kiowa and others. The flare is an integral one piece MT (Magnesium
- Teflon) payload in an aluminum cartridge case. It is dispensed from
various multiple dispensers such as M130, AN/ALE-40, AN/ALE-45,
AN/ALE-47 and others. It is activated using impulse cartridge (squib)
type OMI-BBU-35 or similar.
OMI-PPI-26
IR Flare for SOVIET Aircrafts MIg-29, Su-25
Ordtech Military Industries offers to Mig-29 operators a complete range of advanced Countermeasures :
New generation IR flares, Radar Decoys Chaff and Squibs.
The original Soviet cartridge PPI calibre 26,5 mm for flares or chaff
which features a wax-paper body is replaced by a modern design of
advanced performance and reliability. The original impulse cartridge
(squib) is also replaced by a more powerful and reliable unit.
The OMI flare (OMI-PPI-26) and chaff (OMI-CHF-26) is fully functional
with the existing dispensing system BVP-30-26M and self protection
suite which equips Mig-29 aircraft and no modifications are required to
the self protection SUVP-29 system.
These countermeasures are already in operational use on Mig-29 a/c
serving with a number of Air Forces worldwide.
The OMI countermeasures offer superb performance against the most
advanced IR and Radar guided air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles and
can be customised to meet the particular threats that a Customer will
specify.
GA9116
New Generation IR Flares against Intelligent Seekers
State of the Art advanced IR Countermeasures for protection of Tactical Aircraft from new generation seekers.
Magnesium-Teflon (MT) or Magnesium-Teflon-Viton (MTV) decoy flares are
well known countermeasures for protection of tactical aircraft (fixed
and rotary wing) against the threat of infrared seeker equipped
missiles. They are easy to manufacture at reasonable cost, easy to
operate and quite effective against simple IR-Seekers.
Their efficiency however diminishes while operating at high altitudes
and at high cruising speeds. Furthermore their ability to deceive
modern advanced seekers, especially those operating on image processing
is extremely limited.
Ordtech Military Industries
has developed the GA9116, a new generation of IR decoy flares, highly
capable to protect against these threats. The GA9116 provides ultimate
similarity in wavelength distribution compared to aeroengine axhaust
gases and extremely similar plume. Most beneficial GA9116 does not
require new design of cartridge cases, launchers, controls, etc, being
supplied in known configurations such as MJU-8, MJU-7, PPI, etc.
The graph shows typical
relative magnitudes of radiation intensity comparing aircraft signature
with common Magnesium-Teflon (MT) / Magnesium-Teflon-Viton (MTV) decoy
flares and the newly designed GA9116 by OMI. It clearly shows that the
wavelength signature of GA9116 is almost parallel to a typical jet
plane one, but at relatively higher intensity. Compared to the
signature of an MT/MTV flare above 3.5µm the flare GA9116 is by far
more intense, this increasing decoy probabilities against most modern
seekers with spectrum discrimination and/or image-processing
capabilities.
